
West Indies is currently the 8th Test team, 9th in ODI and 7th in T20 Internationals. West Indies was given a test status in 1928 has been the full member of International Cricket Council since 1926. It is also known as the Windies which became an official name in Jun 2017. The team has represented the Anglophone Caribbean region and also administered and governed by Cricket West Indies.
Players are selected from almost fifteen Caribbean territories, Windies won 2 ICC Cricket World Cup in 1975 and 1979. They are the current ICC T20 Cricket World Cup winners in 2016. West Indies lifted two ICC T20 World Cups in 2012 and 2016. West Indies also won the ICC Champion Trophy back in 2004 and also remained 2 times runner-up in 1998 and 2006.
