Michael Jeffrey Jordan is known as MJ, was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. He is an American former professional basketball player. MJ has played almost 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a professional player for Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls.

NBA official website says “By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.” He is the only player in history who got name and fame through Basketball and lead him to become one of the most influential personalities of that time. He got fame from 1980 to 1990. He is the owner and Chairman of NBA’s Charlotte Hornets.

Jordan played for different teams and also played for 3 seasons for coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina. He is also the member of the Tar Heel’s National Championship team back in 1982. Later in 1984, he joined Bulls. This move was lucky for MJ and he became a star in weeks.

He was given a name Air Jordan when he performed Slam Dunks from the free throw line in Slam Dunk Contests, he was one of the best defensive players of that time, even today, he is the boss who gave basketball a new life. For Bulls, he lead from the front and helped his team to win the first Championship in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Before next season in 1994, he got retirement from basketball. He later joined his team and lead Bulls in 1996, 1997 and 1998 and made a successful record of 72 regular wins in 1995-1996 NBA season. He declared his retirement once again in January 1999 but again returned back and played for Wizards from 2001 to 2003.
