Gina Rodriguez was born on July 30, 1984, in Chicago, Illinois, the USA to Puerto Rican parents Magali and Genaro Rodriguez who was a boxing referee. She started her career from the age of seven only through dancing. She loves salsa and performed in different cities like California, New York, Chicago, and Puerto Rico. She was accepted into Columbia University NY-Theatrical Collaboration taught by Richard Niles at the age of sixteen.

Most of the people don’t know that she is a member of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. She also wants to play a Super-heroin role in a movie. She is now working on three projects Carmen Sandiego, Untitled Miranda July Project and Someone Great. She got $40,000 per episode for “Jane the Virgin (2014)”.
Gina has worked on different platforms, she is not willing to continue her career while living in L.A as she aimed to move towards New York.
